If you’re a property manager or property owner and are renting to tenants, it is important for you to have a water efficiency certificate to avoid any disputes or issues. A water efficiency certificate is also a requirement for water charging so to be able to rent your property seamlessly, we recommend contacting your local plumber to obtain a certificate before renting out to tenants.
Our expert plumbers will visit your property to do an inspection to determine if your property meets the minimum requirements. As per Queensland Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Regulations there are several conditions that need to be met for a Water Efficiency Certificate to be issued including shower heads flow, cold-water taps, toilet dual flush and individual water meter.
Water Efficiency Certificates do not expire however, if you make any plumbing changes or enter a new tenancy agreement, we recommend re-certifying your property to ensure everything is still compliant.
Plumbing work is subject to various building codes, permits, and regulations to ensure safety and functionality. Licensed plumbers thoroughly understand these requirements and ensure all work complies with the rules. This compliance is vital for your protection and to avoid potential legal issues.
A professional, licensed plumber can accurately diagnose problems, provide practical solutions, and ensure all work is performed to the highest standards. In addition, all qualified plumbers will carry liability insurance that protects you as the homeowner and offers workmanship warranties. So if the same issue needs fixing again, they will come out free of charge.
Accidents can happen at any time – especially during plumbing repair jobs. If your plumber accidentally causes a water leak, flooding or damage to your property, their insurance should cover the cost, protecting you from incurring additional expenses. Furthermore, if your plumber is injured onsite, any medical or legal costs should be covered as well.
